Merrilin for the Great Lakes

My Fellow Citizens,

This election is about improving the lives of Great Lakes Residents. You will have a choice between reforming our education system, and maintaining the status quo. We have schools that are in need of being rebuilt or modernized. The lack of qualified teachers hurts our students, and our students are falling behind in areas that are critical to our future such as Math and Science. As Senator, I will provide funding to rebuild and modernize schools and to construct new schools where they are needed. I will bring new, qualified teachers into areas where they are needed and make our educational system in areas such as science and math the best in the world. As a former teacher, I know first hand the problems facing our educational system and the resources needed to fix our educational system. We cannot continue to maintain the status quo that we have had over the past several years.

We saw the results of Republican Leadership in Washington with General Motors. Thousands of jobs were placed at risk, with no real solutions being put forth by our representatives. As Senator, I will work to create thousands of new jobs through Economic Revitalization and better job training programs. I will not sit and watch as thousands of people's jobs are sacrificed. I will work to bring real solutions to the problems facing our workers, and to save their jobs. I will take action when action is needed. I will not wait for others to lead.

We have waited for years to solve our health care crisis here in America, while over 40 Million Americans suffer from a lack of access to health care for themselves and their families. I will bring real solutions to Washington, first by promoting Health Care Cooperatives for our Small Businesses, and by working with both Democrats and Republicans to come up with a real solution to ensure that all Americans have access to Health Insurance. We cannot afford to wait for real coverage and real solutions.

This election season, Great Lakes Residents have the choice of moving forward or falling backwards. I will move our region forward with real solutions to all of the problems affecting our Region and our Country if you send me to Washington as your next United States Senator.

• Support CAPRA, which will work to lower the number of abortions by 95% over the next 10 years

• Opposes Federal Violation of American Civil Rights, no matter the reason
  
• Believes we have an obligation to secure our borders to protect our citizens
